Survey equipment guides, field notes and case studies

Everything ScanSupply publishes lives here. No blog, no news feed, nothing written to fill a schedule. Each piece either answers a decision a buyer has to make before they can spec equipment, or records what a specific machine did on a specific site, including the parts that went badly. We sell several competing brands, which means we can tell you when the cheaper one is the right answer.

What you are reading, and how far to trust it

The badge on each card tells you where the information came from. That matters more than the word count: a sourced comparison and a note from one afternoon on site are useful in different ways, and we would rather label them than blur them together.

Guide

Answers a buying decision

Evergreen. It works through a choice a buyer has to make before they can spec anything, states the trade-offs plainly, and cites the technical claims. It is written to still be true next year.

Looks likeWhich scanner class actually suits the deliverable, and what the cheaper one costs you.

Field Note

Records what the equipment did

Dated and specific. One piece of equipment, one site, what it handled well and what it did not. No client name is needed, so we can publish it the week the work happens.

Looks likeTwo scanners run over the same structure, and where each one lost time.

Case Study

Documents a completed project

A named project with a real outcome, published with the client’s permission. It sets out the constraint, the equipment we specified against it, and what the work produced.

Looks likeWhy a mobile scanner was specified over a tripod on a heritage building, and what it saved.

How we decide what to publish

Fewer pages, each one worth reading

A page gets published here only if it answers a buyer question our product and category pages cannot, or documents a real project with an equipment lesson attached. Anything that fails that test belongs on a product, category or market page instead. That is why this list is short, and why it will stay short.

The practical effect is that we publish when there is something to say, not on a schedule. A list of five reasons to consider laser scanning would take an afternoon to write and would help nobody choose anything. We would rather you found four pages here that settled a decision than forty that did not.
