Overview

What the CHCNAV i89 is for

The i89 is the smallest receiver in the CHCNAV visual RTK line, and the one built for punishment. It tracks 1,408 channels, holds 8 mm horizontal RTK, and compensates tilt to 3 cm across 60 degrees with no calibration. Two global-shutter cameras let you measure points you cannot physically stand on. What sets it apart from the rest of the range is survivability and independence: IP68, a two metre pole drop, minus 40 degrees, and a UHF radio that both transmits and receives, so the same model can be configured as either the base or the rover. A local base-and-rover setup still needs two receivers.

Choosing

Is the CHCNAV i89 right for your job?

Good candidate when

Crews who carry a receiver all day and drop it. 750 g, IP68, a two metre pole drop, and a transmit-capable radio so the same model can serve as base or rover.

Consider another route when

Obstructed sites where fixes are unstable. Weight is not the constraint that matters there.

Against the alternativesAgainst the i93: you trade some capability for a 750 g body rated IP68, a two metre pole drop and minus 40. Against the ViLi i100: no visual or LiDAR fallback, so a canopy or urban canyon still stops you.
