What the Emesent Hovermap ST-X is for
The Hovermap ST-X is built for the places other scanners cannot go. It carries no GNSS at all, because it does not need any: Emesent publishes ±15 mm general and ±10 mm indoor and underground mapping accuracy. The same 1.57 kg scanner can be configured for supported drone, handheld, pole, backpack, vehicle, LHD, cage and Boston Dynamics Spot workflows, each with its own mount, power and platform-specific equipment. Underground is where its published accuracy is tightest.
Choosing
Is the Emesent Hovermap ST-X right for your job?
Good candidate when
Mining, tunnelling, utilities, and anyone capturing where there is no satellite signal at all. Also the right answer when one unit has to fly, walk, ride a vehicle and mount to a robot.
Consider another route when
Straightforward building interiors, where a lighter handheld does the same job. And any millimetre-grade deliverable, since Emesent publishes 15 mm.
Against the alternativesAgainst the RS7: the Hovermap earns its cost only if you actually work underground or need 300 m. Against a tripod scanner: an order of magnitude less accurate and many times faster.
