What the work looks like here

The Metroplex is a horizontal-growth market: subdivisions, distribution centres, highway corridors and site development spread across a very large area. Crews cover ground rather than climb it, which favours aerial mapping and network RTK, and every deliverable has to declare whether it is on grid or on surface coordinates.

Local market

The Dallas market

Dallas-Fort Worth is one of the fastest-growing metros in the US, with massive commercial and residential development, highway and data-center construction, and statewide oil and gas, all deep markets for GNSS, drone mapping, and reality-capture scanning. ScanSupply supplies and supports that gear with genuine equipment, warranty, and configuration help across the Metroplex.

Set up for how you work in Texas

Works with your Texas RTK network

Texas has no free statewide public real-time network for general surveyors, so DFW crews rely on commercial casters such as Leica SmartNet and Trimble VRS Now, with NOAA CORS for post-processing. Our GNSS receivers connect over NTRIP to these and to your own base. Tell us your correction source and we confirm compatibility.

Built for DFW airspace and Part 107

Commercial drone work in the US requires an FAA Part 107 certificate. Dallas sits under the busy Class B airspace of DFW International and Dallas Love Field, so controlled-airspace flights need LAANC or FAA authorization. Texas has no city drone ban comparable to some metros; surveying and mapping are recognized lawful uses. We help you choose a platform that fits your flights.

The datum trap in Texas

Surface, or ground, coordinates are routine across North Central Texas. TxDOT delivers control in both surface and grid and publishes county surface adjustment factors, so a DFW deliverable that does not state which one it is on is ambiguous. Confirm grid versus surface before anything gets staked.

Correction networks operating in this market

We confirm which network you run and verify the receiver configuration against it before quoting. We do not publish mountpoints or credentials, and we do not claim compatibility we have not checked.

FAQ

Buying survey gear in Dallas

What RTK network do Dallas surveyors use?

Because Texas has no free public real-time network for general use, DFW surveyors typically use commercial networks such as SmartNet and Trimble VRS Now, or run their own base. Our receivers connect to all of these over NTRIP, and we confirm your workflow before you buy.

Do you supply drones and scanners for DFW construction?

Yes. We supply mapping drones, UAV LiDAR, GNSS, and laser scanners suited to the commercial, highway, and data-center construction driving the Metroplex, quoted and configured to your deliverables.

Who you are dealing with

The people specifying your configuration have run this equipment on real sites, not just sold it. That is why a quote comes back with a recommendation and a reason, rather than a line item.

  • North American stock, so availability is a real answer and not a transatlantic guess.
  • Every specification sourced. Where a figure is a manufacturer claim under their own test conditions, we say so.
